Aquarius Personality Traits
If your birthday is between January 20th - February 18th, congratulations, you’re an Aquarius! Aquarius is a fixed air sign that is eccentric, inventive, rebellious, unconventional and freedom-loving.
Some of the shadow traits they may need to work through are their emotional detachment and tendency to point out the flaws of society without taking action to fix them.
Humanitarians at heart, Aquarius’ are concerned with the collective and have no problem seeing how things could be done better. This becomes an issue when they become too wrapped in society’s ills without taking direct action. For example, feeling appalled by the amount of garbage on the beach but not joining in on a local clean up effort.
As a fixed air sign, they also need to make sure they aren’t becoming too unyielding in their opinions and views on things.
Aquarius rules the 11th house of community, friend groups, organizations, and social causes. Here we find our connections to the collective, social consciousness, and clubs/groups.
Aquarius’ planetary rulers are Saturn (traditional) and Uranus (modern).
Saturn is associated with limitations, boundaries, time, authority, and hard work while Uranus is associated with rebellion, sudden shake-ups, revolution, and new ideas.
While these energies are seemingly opposite, Aquarius balances them by bucking the status quo (Uranus) with tenacity (Saturn). When they find a cause they stick with it, and it can be almost impossible to sway their opinion on the matter. They are dedicated to innovation and pushing the limits of what is socially acceptable.
To recap, some Aquarius personality traits are:
Eccentric
Social
Inventive
Rebellious
Emotionally Detached
Humanitarian
Aquarius Style Points
Aquarius style is bright, original, and free-spirited.
Aquarius’ march to the beat of their own drum and unconventional styles appeal to them. They can be very influenced by counterculture/subculture fashions of the past and have a knack for infusing them with futuristic elements.
As an air sign, Aquarius’ need clothing that stands out and speaks to their forward thinking nature.
Aquarius rules the ankles and calves, so clothing or accessories that draw attention to this area are great! Think ankle boots, anklets, midi skirts, fun socks, etc.
You can also get into the energy of Aquarius with reflective sunglasses, sequins, fringe, neon, silver, lots of denim, clothing with political slogans/patches, “flower child” motifs, and rainbows.
